Fuming Pokwang, other stars react to proposed face-to-face classes

Many celebrities have expressed their two cents about the proposed face-to-face pilot run for Kinder to Grade 3 pupils.

In a lengthy Facebook post, comedian Ogie Diaz wrote: "Sino ba ang ayaw, di ba? Pero wag kayong pabida. Ipahinga nyo yang idea na yan. Wag nyong gawing guinea pig ang mga bata para i-try kung mananatiling negative habang nasa klase."

According to him, no parents would allow their kids to be at risk.

"Mula kinder hanggang grade 3? So ano ang unang ituturo ng mga guro? Kung paano manatiling safe during pandemic? Na i-maintain ang social distancing among them? Mga bata yan, imposibleng di magdidikitan ang mga yan, lalo na kung na-miss nila ang isa’t isa," he pointed out.

"Sa brilliant idea nyo na yan, sa palagay nyo, aabot sa Grade 4 ang mga bata kung isasapalaran nyo ang buhay nila? Ni-lockdown nga ninyo at nawala ang face-to-face classes nung mababa pa lang ang bilang ng mga kaso nung March 2020, tapos, feeling nyo, safe na siya ngayong nagbe-beinte mil ang kaso ARAW-ARAW?"

"Ano feeling nyo? Mas matibay ang immune system ng mga bata kesa matatanda ngayong mataas ang kaso? Asan ang logic doon? Ituturo din ba ang logic sa kinder hanggang Grade 3?"

Actress Aiko Melendez agreed to Ogie, relating "Mali na ang mga bata ang ifront line nila para lang habulin ung pondo na malalaan again dito. Ang dami na namamatay, lalo na ang mga bata wala naman sila vaccine. Naitawid naman na online classes muna ang mga bata bakit di muna pababain ang cases at kapag meron na along the way na vaccine that would be safe sa kids that’s the time na pwede na to. Kht ipush ng dep ed yan bilang magulang di ko sasapalaran ang safety ng mga bata."

Meanwhile, comedian-TV host Pokwang went ballistic upon learning about it.

She even reshared Ogie's post along with some curse words.

"PUT*NG INA KAYO KAYO NALANG!!! Ano ako ulol para ipain ang anak ko sa kabobohang idea na ito? di na oy!!!!"

At least 120 public and private schools are targeted to participate in the conduct of face-to-face classes, which is still subject to the approval of President Duterte.

According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Philippines is one of the five countries in the world that have not started in-person classes since the pandemic began.
