AFP installs new hospital chief at V. Luna Medical Center


The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has designated a new hospital chief at the Victoriano Luna Medical Center, the military's highest echelon of care and its premiere health facility.

Col. Manuel Fidel Magtira, an orthopedic surgeon and erstwhile Chief of Health Service Center–Northern Luzon, took over the management of the V. Luna Medical Center Tuesday, Sept. 7.

He replaced Col. Fatima Claire Navarro, who relinquished her post to assume a greater responsibility as the AFP's first ever female Surgeon General.

AFP Health Service commander, Col. Edgar Cardinoza facilitated the Change of Chief of Office and turnover ceremony at AFP Health Service Command, Camp Colonel Victoriano K. Luna in Quezon City.

Cardinoza reminded the AFP Health Service personnel to continue their service with utmost integrity and excellence especially amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
