Why Sunshine Dizon is in favor of legalizing divorce in PH

Actress Sunshine Dizon believes that divorce should be legalized in the country, saying it is normal for people to fall out of love.

During the virtual conference of the sitcom “Marry Me, Marry You” recently, Dizon said: “Napaka-plastic ko naman kung sasabihin kong marriage is forever, hindi naman totoo… for me, I'm speaking for myself!”

"Push niyo yan. Gusto ko nung divorce kasi it's normal for people to fall out of love," she added.

The 38-year-old star has two kids with her estranged husband, Timothy Tan.

"So bakit natin hindi bibigyan ng pagkakataon 'yung mga tao na gusto mag-start anew, di ba? Kailangan ba talagang meron parating psychological reason or whatever, or something drastic na dahilan para lang maghiwalay 'yung dalawang tao?,” she asked.

“Minsan talagang hindi na sila para sa isa’t-isa. So I hope, you know, the laws will push through with regards to divorce here in the Philippines. So that magkaroon ng freedom naman 'yung mga tao, di ba, para magmahal ulit, magsimula ulit. So that’s my take on it,” she added.

Last month, the House panel approved the absolute divorce bill.
