The Catholic Church observes the month of September as Stewardship Month to serve as a reminder for the faithful in his important role as stewards of God’s creation.

In a pastoral letter, Taytay, Palawan Bishop Broderick Pabillo called on the faithful to live up to his mission to protect and preserve the environment.
“As we observe the Season of Creation from September 1 to October 10, let us help protect and preserve the environment as stewards of God’s creation. We are stewards not only of our environment but also of our God-given life, our faith, our talents, and every material possession that we have,”said Bishop Pabillo, chairman-elect of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Office on Stewardship.
The Church leader stressed no one must destroy the environment for personal gains. Rather, the world we live in “must be nurtured and preserved. As its stewards, let us not destroy the environment. Let us take care of it, share it to the future generation. The grace of God is not only meant for a few, it is for everyone,” Pabillo said.
The prelate likewise urged the faithful to continue to nurture his faith and to pray more. He called on the faithful to help particularly those in need.
