A 14-year-old girl was killed after she was trapped inside their burning house in Las Piñas City Sunday.
The Las Piñas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the victim as Raniel Peña, 14, a resident of No. 7 Acacia St., Camella Homes, Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos, Las Piñas City.

Base on the investigation by the Las Piñas BFP, the fire started at about 7:55 a.m. in one of the bedrooms at the ground floor of the two-storey house owned by the Peña family.
Witnesses said they first saw thick smoke billowing out from the ground floor followed by the fire that engulfed the whole structure.
It was also learned that the father of the victim even tried to rescue his daughter who was sleeping inside her bedroom at the second floor of the house but big flames prevented him from entering their house.
The fire immediately engulfed the house, which was made of semi-light materials. No other house in the neighborhood was gutted by the blaze as firefighters immediately rushed to the scene.
Except for the teenage girl that was killed in the blaze, nobody was reportedly injured in the blaze that was put out at 8:54 a.m.
Arson probers are still conducting investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which damaged property worth P380,000.
