Pharmally's Mago a no-show in Senate probe

The Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation official who earlier admitted to tampering the manufacturing dates of face shields they delivered to the government failed to appear in the continuation of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigation into the alleged overpriced COVID-19 pandemic supplies.

Blue Ribbon committee director-general Rudy Quimbo confirmed to senators that Mago has not logged into hearing which is conducted online. According to Quimbo, Mago did not inform the panel that she was going to attend the hearing.

“Our resource persons are requested to email us beforehand so that we can provide them the link. Neither has she emailed us,” Quimbo told Senate probers.

As per Sen. Richard Gordon’s account, Mago has been “incommunicado” since she testified last Friday, September 24. The Senate had offered Mago protective custody after her testimony but the latter has not responded since.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros told the panel Mago’s absence is “very concerning.”

Gordon then requested the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms to locate Mago.

“She’s a very material witness. She’s more than just somebody who appears to be a clerk. I think she knows a lot more and she does a lot more for Pharmally,” he said.
