PAGASA: Typhoon's trough to affect parts of Northern Luzon

While typhoon “Mindulle” is no longer expected to enter the country’s monitoring area, its trough would continue to affect parts of Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said Thursday, Sept. 30.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the typhoon’s trough or extension would be affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja said areas affected by the trough may experience localized thunderstorms that would last for one to two hours.

In its latest weather bulletin, the weather agency said Mindulle was last spotted 1,560 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 a.m.

Meanwhile, most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, may experience fair weather conditions.

But Estareja said localized thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon or in the evening, particularly over Central and Southern Luzon, and the Cordillera region.

Partly cloudy and cloudy skies may prevail over Visayas, while Mindanao may experience fair weather conditions.

PAGASA has not issued a gale warning. This means that fishing boats and other small sea craft are allowed to venture out into the sea.
