Isolated rain showers seen on 1st day of COC filing for May 2022 polls

Isolated rain showers may occur over parts of the country on the first day of the filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the May 2022 elections, the state weather bureau said Thursday, Sept. 30.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers may affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country in the next 24 hours.

This is due to localized thunderstorms, it said in its lates weather bulletin, adding that flash floods or landslides may be experienced in some areas during severe thunderstorms.

Expect fair weather conditions over Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon in the morning until noon, said weather specialist Ana Clauren.

But she noted that there is a high chance of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

Temperature in Metro Manila may range between 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

As for the Visayas and Mindanao, Clauren said fair weather conditions may also prevail in these areas in the morning until midday.

However, she said that isolated rain showers due to localized may occur particularly in the afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile, the trough or extension of the typhoon “Mindulle” will continue to affect the eastern section of Northern Luzon, PAGASA said.

The weather disturbance was last spotted at about 1,775 kilometers of Extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 p.m.
