11 areas placed under MECQ until Oct. 15

The government's pandemic task force has placed 11 areas under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until October 15, 2021, while 25 areas will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions until the end of the month.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque made the statement as existing quarantine classifications for different areas in the country expire on September 30.

In a statement on Thursday evening, September 30, Roque said the following will be under MECQ until October 15:

  1. Apayao
  2. Kalinga
  3. Batanes
  4. Bataan
  5. Bulacan
  6. Cavite
  7. Lucena City
  8. Rizal
  9. Laguna
  10. Naga City
  11. Iloilo Province.

The following areas area placed under GCQ with heightened restrictions for the entire month of October:

  1. Abra
  2. Baguio City
  3. Ilocos Sur
  4. Pangasinan
  5. Cagayan
  6. Isabela
  7. City of Santiago
  8. Nueva Vizcaya
  9. Quirino
  10. Quezon
  11. Batangas
  12. Bacolod City
  13. Capiz
  14. Iloilo City
  15. Lapu-Lapu City
  16. Negros Oriental
  17. Bohol
  18. Zamboanga del Norte
  19. Zamboanga del Sur
  20. Cagayan de Oro City
  21. Misamis Oriental
  22. Davao del Norte
  23. Davao Occidental
  24. Butuan City
  25. Surigao del Sur

Davao de Oro will also be under GCQ with heightened restrictions but only from October 1 to 15, 2021.

Meanwhile, the following areas will be under the regular GCQ from October 1 to 31, 2021:

  1. Ilocos Norte
  2. Dagupan City
  3. Benguet
  4. Ifugao
  5. Tarlac
  6. Marinduque
  7. Occidental Mindoro
  8. Oriental Mindoro
  9. Puerto Princesa
  10. Albay
  11. Camarines Norte
  12. Aklan
  13. Antique
  14. Guimaras
  15. Negros Occidental
  16. Cebu City
  17. Cebu Province
  18. Mandaue City
  19. Siquijor
  20. Tacloban City
  21. Zamboanga Sibugay
  22. Zamboanga City
  23. Misamis Occidental
  24. Iligan City
  25. Davao City
  26. Davao Oriental
  27. Davao del Sur
  28. General Santos City
  29. Sultan Kudarat
  30. Sarangani
  31. North Cotabato
  32. South Cotabato
  33. Agusan del Norte
  34. Agusan del Sur
  35. Dinagat Islands
  36. Surigao del Norte
  37. Cotabato City
  38. Lanao del Sur

The rest of the Philippines will be under modified GCQ (MGCQ).
