Winners at the 48th Korea Broadcasting Awards

KBS2’s drama “River Where the Moon Rises,” BTS and Brave Girls won at the 48th Korea Broadcasting Awards (KBA).

On Sept. 2, organizer Korea Broadcasters Association announced the winners for best drama and individual awards.

“River Where the Moon Rises” won best drama, edging out “The Penthouse,” “Once Again” and “Here’s My Plan.” “River Where the Moon Rises” aired from February to April this year, and had controversy over actor Ji Soo, who was accused of school violence. He was removed from the drama in March and was replaced by actor Na In-woo.

In addition, “River Where the Moon Rises” star Kim So-hyun emerged as the winner for best actress and popularity award selected through online votes. Veteran actor Cheon Ho-jin won best actor for the drama “Once Again.”

BTS won the best male singer award and popularity award while Brave Girls, which resurrected their career through the viral song “Rollin,’” won as best female singer.

Popular emcee and entertainer Yoo Jae-suk of “Hangout with Yoo” won best male entertainer and Kim Sook of “Boss in the Mirror” bagged the best female entertainer award.

Yang Se-hyung of “Master in the House” won best male entertainer (variety) while Mamamoo’s Hwasa of “I Live Alone” grabbed the best female entertainer award (variety).

The Korea Broadcasting Awards is an awards ceremony that has been held since 1973. The 48th Korea Broadcasting Awards (KBA) will be aired as a prerecorded program on MBC on Sept. 10. Performers at the ceremony include Brave Girls, Parc Jae-jung and Leenalchi.
