10 senators record perfect attendance in 2nd regular session of 18th Congress

Ten members of the Senate had perfect attendance in their plenary sessions during the 18th Congress' second regular session.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, and Senators Nancy Binay, Christopher "Bong" Go, Panfilo Lacson, Lito Lapid, Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao, Francis Tolentino, Joel Villanueva, and Cynthia Villar were present and on time in all 69 plenary sessions from July 27, 2020 to June 3 2021.

"I’m accountable to those who trusted me with my position , therefore, it’s incumbent upon me to work diligently come hell or high water!" said Sotto, who has been leading the Senate's hybrid sessions.

"As an elected official, I owe it to the people to show up and do my work," Zubiri also said.

Nine other senators also recorded a complete attendance but were not able to respond in all roll calls.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon was on official mission when he arrived after the roll call in the chamber.

Like Drilon, Sen. Imee Marcos responded to 68 roll calls.

Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. both missed two roll calls; while Sens. Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara, Risa Hontiveros, and Grace Poe arrived after three roll calls.

Senator Pia Cayetano was also present in all plenary session but arrived or logged in after the roll call four times.

Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel, meanwhile, missed 11 roll calls.

Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto was absent in two plenary sessions and was not able to respond to the roll call twice. Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan was likewise present in 67 session days and was absent twice.

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa was present in 65 but was indisposed for four session days. Dela Rosa was one of the seven senators who contracted the COVID-19.

Senator Richard Gordon, for his part, was on an official mission once and was not able to attend plenary session once.

Due to her detention since 2017, Sen. Leila de Lima was still not able to attend any plenary session and was marked absent during the period.
