Elderly street sweeper killed in Malabon hit-and-run

A senior citizen street sweeper was killed after she was by hit by a white van in Malabon City on Thursday, Sept. 2.

In a report from GMA’s Unang Balita, the victim was identified as Erlinda Batulan. She was busy sweeping the road when she was hit.

Instead of helping, the driver of the van sped off and left Batulan lying on the sidewalk.

The report said the witnesses failed to see the plate number of the van.

Authorities are now conducting an investigation of the incident, which includes getting CCTV footages near the area.
