Typhoon 'Mindulle' no longer expected to enter PAR

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday evening, Sept. 29, said the typhoon with the international name "Mindulle" will no longer enter the country's area of responsibility.

The typhoon was initially projected to enter the PAR but has moved north-northwestward, veering away from the country on Wednesday.

As of 10 p.m., PAGASA said the center of the eye of Mindulle was already at 1,490 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

It was packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph.

PAGASA said typhoon Mindulle is unlikely to directly affect the country's weather conditions but may cause moderate to rough seas over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon.

"These conditions are risky for those using small sea crafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions," PAGASA warned.

In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy conditions may persist over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

It advised the public to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides especially during the occurrence of severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with short-lived heavy rains.
