PH COVID-19 vaccine supply now at 70 M doses with arrival of more Pfizer jabs
The country's supply of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines reached 70 million doses on Wednesday night, September 29, with the arrival of a fresh shipment of Pfizer from the United States.

A total of 391,950 doses of government-procured Pfizer vaccine were delivered at Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) around 9:20 p.m. via Air Hong Kong flight LD456.
The latest delivery brought the total number of COVID-19 vaccines to 70,091,290 doses.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., vaccine czar and chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, welcomed the arrival of the Pfizer jabs with Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Ma. Carolina Vidal-Taino.

The vaccines were part of the total 40 million doses of Pfizer jab that were bought by the government from the US for 2021. It was the biggest vaccine procurement that the government made this year as part of its national vaccination program which aims to inoculate around 77 million Filipinos by the end of the year.
Majority of the vaccines are expected to be deployed in regions outside Metro Manila which record high number of daily cases such as in northern Luzon, and parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, some of the supplies might be stocked for the target inoculation of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old and general population in October.
On Thursday morning, the government will also receive 1,233,300 doses of Moderna vaccine at NAIA Terminal 1. The shipment will be carried by China Airlines flight CI703 around 9:35 a.m.
The American-made jabs were procured through a trilateral agreement among the government, private sector represented by International Container Terminal Services, Inc., and Moderna, Inc.
A total of 863,800 doses will be alloted to the government while 369,500 doses will go to the ICTSI owned by port mogul Enrique Razon Jr.
As of Tuesday, a total of 44,741,741 doses were already administered nationwide. More than 23.9 million Filipinos have received their first dose while 20.8 million others were fully vaccinated.
