P3.4-M worth of shabu seized in Pasig drug sting

Combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local police seized P3.4 million worth of shabu following the arrest of two drug peddlers on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City.

PDEA-3 Regional Director Bryan Babang identified the suspects as John Errol Malabanan, 28, and Joseph Bautista, 44, both of Barangay Dela Paz.

In a report to PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva, Babang said more or less 500 grams of shabu packed in two knot-tied transparent plastic ice bags, one unit of green Honda Civic vehicle and marked money were confiscated from the suspects in the transaction in front of Octagon Village Gate in F. Mariano Avenue.

Malabanan and Bautista are now facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Chito A. Chavez)
