Only 3.5% of PNP personnel remain unvaccinated vs COVID

A total of 164,787 personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have been fully-vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as part of the measure to protect policemen who are among the frontliners in the fight against the pandemic.

PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said the figure represents 73.98 percent of the 222,000-strong police organization.

On the other hand, he said a total of 50,019 personnel, or 22.46 percent of the PNP strength have received their first dose of the vaccine.

"With these numbers, only 3.56 percent or 7,937 personnel are yet to receive the vaccines. We expect more of our personnel to be vaccinated in the coming days," said Eleazar.

He said they already stepped up the information drive to convince the remaining personnel to be vaccinated.

But Eleazar said they would respect the decision of those who would not want to be vaccinated.
