Local cable channel to air Japan B.League games

Filipino basketball fans will get a chance to see eight players who took their talents to Japan on television and online after the B.League struck a deal with a local cable channel.

The B.League announced Wednesday, Sept. 29 that Tap Digital Media Ventures will air 51 games, including those featuring Filipino players suiting for different clubs in the 2021-22 season which starts Thursday, Sept. 30.

Under the agreement, B.League games will be shown on cable channel Tap Sports and online streaming via the Tap Go app.

“(The) B.League will deliver exciting basketball games to Filipino fans featuring Filipino heroes and up-and-coming youngsters through Tap’s network,” the B.League said in a statement.

Thirdy Ravena and the San-en Neophoenix take on older brother Kiefer and the Shiga Lakestars in one of the featured matches of the league’s opening week.

Also set to see action are Ray Parks Jr. for the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, Kobe Paras for the Albirex Niigata BB, Dwight Ramos for the Toyama Grouses and Javi Gomez de Liano for the Ibaraki Robots.

Gomez de Liano’s brother Juan will suit up for Earthfriends Tokyo Z and Kemark Carino for the Aomori Wat’s of the B.League’s second division.

Games of Thirdy with San-en last season were aired for free on the B.League's YouTube channel using English broadcast.
