The typhoon with the international name "Mindulle" will likely enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) between Tuesday evening, Sept. 28, and Wednesday morning, Sept. 29, but is not expected to directly affect the country's weather condition.

As of 10 a.m., Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the center of the eye of Mindulle was located 1,460 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

It has slightly intensified packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 205 kph while moving northward at 10 kph.

Based on its latest forecast, PAGASA said Mindulle may enter the PAR between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning and will be locally called "Lannie."

However, it may only stay briefly inside the PAR as it is seen to exit the vicinity between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, Sept. 30.

"This typhoon is unlikely to affect the weather condition of the country throughout the forecast period in the next 24 hours, moderate to rough seas due to swells caused by the typhoon will be experienced over the seaboards of extreme northern Luzon and the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon," PAGASA said.

"These conditions are risky for those using small sea crafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions," it added.

PAGASA said that partly cloudy to cloudy conditions may persist over Metro Manila and the rest of the country in the next 24 hours.

However, it advised the public to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides especially during the occurrence of severe thunderstorms that are often associated with short-lived heavy rains.

Weather specialist Ariel Rojas said PAGASA has not monitored a weather disturbance that may affect the country in the next two to three days.
