Operatives from the Manila Police District Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMART) and the Manila Bureau of Permits raided on Tuesday an e-commerce warehouse in Paco, which sells fake electronic goods.

SMART chief Police Lt. Col. Rosalino Ibay and BPLO Director Levi Facundo conducted a surprise inspection at Apollo Electronics and Accessories Corp. located in Otis, Paco, Manila, which resulted in the discovery of several boxes of cellphone containing rocks instead of phone products.
"Ito ay may false advertisement, kunwari 'yung product nila dapat mataas ‘yung rating. Mostly 'yung mga nakita namin meron silang 36 accounts sa mga online shopping (It was a false advertisement, for example their products have higher ratings. We found out that they have 36 accounts in online shops)," Ibay said.
A concerned citizen reported to the office of Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso about the alleged modus, according to Ibay.
Cellphones similar to Samsung and Oppo brands were also found in the warehouse.
"Yung mga nakita namin na sinoli kaparehas sila ng Oppo saka ng Samsung pero walang trading name katulad ng mga original. (We found out that the returned parcels are the same as Oppo and Samsung but they do not have trading names like the original brands)," Ibay said.
The owner of the establishment will be facing charges for violation of Art 315 RPC (Estafa) in relation to RA 10175 (Cybercrime Act), RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines), and RO 8331 or operating without business permit, Ibay said.
