65% of Taguig residents now fully vaccinated

Fully vaccinated individuals have reached 65 percent of the total population in Taguig, the city government said.

As of Sept. 26, 565,389 individuals have been fully vaccinated in Taguig, or 65 percent of the estimated total population 872,980 based on the Department of Health’s 2021 projection.

Of the fully vaccinated, 19,555 are A1 (health workers), 54,652 are A2 (senior citizens), 115,021 are A3 (persons with comorbidities), 265,466 are A4 (essential workers), and 110,695 are A5 (indigent population).

On the other hand, 642,047 individuals have received the first dose, or 74 percent of the total population.

Of the total, 25,579 are A1 (health workers), 57,243 are A2 (senior citizens), 130,775 are A3 (persons with comorbidities), 291,367 are A4 (essential workers), and 137,083 are A5 (indigent population). To date, the Taguig City government has administered 1,191,909 vaccines.

As of Sept. 26, Taguig has 1,289 active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases including 338 new cases for the day out of 44,719 confirmed cases, 43,119 recoveries and 311 deaths.

According to Dr. Guido David of OCTA Research, on Sept. 26, Taguig had the fifth highest number of new cases in the country with 421.

Based on David’s data, Taguig placed fifth in the National Capital Region (NCR) based on the average daily attack rate (ADAR), or the number of new cases per 100,000 from Sept. 19 to 25.

According to David, Taguig has 339 new cases for the day and an ADAR of 38.83. Its one-week growth rate is -29 percent, decreasing from the period Sept. 12 to 18 to Sept. 19 to 25. Taguig’s infection, or reproduction number, is 0.86 as of Sept. 25.

As of Sept. 14 update, the Department of Health (DOH) listed 41 Delta variant cases in Taguig. Since then, the DOH has stopped providing the data table for the NCR in online briefings including updates on Delta variant cases by local government units in the NCR.
