Makeshift eateries demolished by Pasay authorities in clearing operation

Twenty seven makeshift eateries, sari-sari stores, and food carts were demolished by members of the Pasay City Traffic Parking and Management Office (TPMO) and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) during the conduct of clearing operation along Diokno Boulevard, Pasay City on Friday (September 24).

Ronald Rey “RR” Salvador, CENRO supervising administrative officer, said the clearing operation was conducted near the Philippine Senate building and in the vicinity of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Salvador said seven makeshift eateries and 10 sari-sari stores were demolished, 10 ambulant vendors were apprehended, and food carts were confiscated during the clearing operation.

He said the makeshift eateries and stores were found to have no business permit to operate.

Salvador also said customers of the makeshift eateries and stores were mostly taxi drivers and those working at the Business Process Outsourcing (BPLO) and were not at all following the basic health protocols against COVID-19.
