An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the management committee (ManCom) meeting on the issue of voter registration extension was already held Monday.
Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said Chairman Sheriff Abas and the commissioners attended the meeting.
"We had the management committee meeting earlier today where the chairman and the commissioners consulted with different regional directors and officials of Comelec," he said in a press briefing.
"They are all there and they listened to the arguments. They participated in the discussions, but they reserved judgment until later when they meet," added Jimenez.
"We are preparing the recommendation now and it will be submitted to the banc on Wednesday," he said.
Jimenez said the en banc will deliberate on the recommendation this Wednesday.
Abas has earlier called for an emergency meeting among top poll officials to discuss the calls for voter registration extension.
The voter registration period for the May 2022 polls is set to end on Sept. 30, 2021.
