Alden Richards, Sylvia Sanchez win top acting honors at 36th Star Awards for Movies


Sylvia Sanchez and Alden Richards were the big winners during the virtual presentation of the 36th edition of the Star Awards for Movies, held on Sunday, Sept. 26.

Sanchez was honored for her role in "Jesusa" while Richards for the blockbuster movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye."

Ricky Davao took home the award for Movie Supporting Actor of the Year, for the movie "Fuccbois" while Maricel Laxa, Movie Supporting Actress of the Year, for "Hello, Love, Goodbye."

The movie "Mindanao" under Centerstage Production was proclaimed Indie Movie of the Year, while "Hello, Love, Goodbye" was named "Movie of the Year."

Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards were named Movie Loveteam of the Year.

Philippine Movie Press Club President Roldan Castro thanked the Film Development Council of the Philippines, Director Pete Mariano, hosts Rep. Alfred Vargas and Sanya Lopez, WEMSAP and performers Jed Madela, Luke Mejares and Regine Velasquez- Alcasid, for making the awards night possible.
