After Senate's protection offer, Pharmally exec who exposed DOH supply scam cannot be contacted
Senator Richard Gordon on Sunday, Sept. 26, said senators could no longer contact an officer of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. who admitted to tampering the expiration dates of COVID-19 supplies they delivered to the government.
In his post on Twitter, Gordon revealed that they could not contact Krizle Grace Mago who, in her testimony to the Senate blue ribbon committee last Friday, admitted she tampered with the certification dates of the face shields as it was the instruction given to her by Pharmally corporate treasurer and secretary Mohit Dargani.
The blue ribbon panel had offered Mago protection but the latter merely responded that she wants to think about it since she has to consider that she is still an employee of Pharmally.
“Pharmally Pharmaceutical official Krizle Mago hindi na ma-contact ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee (cannot be contacted by the Senate blue ribbon committee)!” Gordon wrote on Twitter.
“Noong ika-siyam na pagdinig ay inalok natin siya ng pagkakataon na mabigyan ng proteksyon ng Senado ngunit nais niya muna raw itong pag-isipan (During our ninth hearing we offered her an opportunity to be under the protection of the Senate but she said she wanted to think about it),” he said.
The senators had asked Mago to provide her address and exact location for the protection they offered her, but said she will get back to them after the hearing.
At around 8 a.m. today, the committee made a follow-up again on Mago’s location. However, at 9:13 a.m. the panel tried calling her number but she can no longer be reached.
Mago had said she changed the year in the certificates of the face shields from 2020 to 2021. They also repacked the face shields, which according to a warehouse employee who testified, are dirty and yellowish due to being soaked in rainwater.
The Senate blue ribbon committee, which is looking into the alleged overpriced pandemic items bought by the government, through the Department of Budget and Management’s Procurement Service (DBM-PS), also refused to disclose the exact location of the Linconn Ong, whom the Senate cited in contempt and detained.
The committee had earlier ordered to transfer Ong, Pharmally director, to the Pasay City Jail. But on a Saturday interview, Gordon refused to disclose his whereabouts for security reasons.
