San Beda University lawyers throw support to Mayor Isko, Dr. Ong

Lawyers from San Beda University College of Law expressed their support to the presidential bid of Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso as well as the candidacy of his running mate, Dr. Willie Ong.

"In our statement urging Mayor Isko to run for President, we said that he is the best presidential option for our country," the organization said in a statement issued on Friday, Sept. 24.

"His leadership brand and track record as a local chief executive, which changed the face and fate of the city of Manila, will be the same formula which will competently and decisively address the nation's woes," it added.

Domagoso officially announced on Wednesday, Sept. 22, his presidential bid, with Ong as his running mate.

The local chief executive earlier said that he will be a healing president in case he wins the 2022 national elections.

The organization also supports Domagoso's vision to become a "healing" president as the country needs to be healed from the "virus, corruption, hate and divisiveness."

"We believe that Mayor Isko's life journey that molded his character and philosophy, as well as his transformative leadership, all augur well for a Presidency that will bring hope, genuine change, and inspiration to our country," the statement read.
