Combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), police, military and intelligence groups arrested six drug pushers and seized P13.6 million worth of ‘shabu’ in a buy-bust operation in Parang Sulu on Friday, Sept. 24.
In a statement, the PDEA Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) identified the suspects as Ajing Abdula Samad, Abdu Haran Nungi, Eyan Dugasan, Caesar Eran Aradais, Dugasan istuala and Mursidin Jalling. Another suspect Mirajuli Manglawi was killed in a shootout with the anti-narcotics operatives.
The suspects tried to escape using motorized bancas but were collared by the government forces.
“We owe the success of these series of successful operation to the healthy working relationship of government forces here in Sulu. This is a result of effective intelligence sharing and inter-operability capabilities of our men working in the field. I congratulate each one of them,” said PDEA BARMM Regional Director Gilbert Buenafe.
In the 9:30 a.m. operation, the anti-narcotics teams confiscated two heat sealed transparent plastic bags containing more or less two kilos of suspected shabu, buy-bust money and mobile phone.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 and are now under custody of the Parang MPS Sulu. (Chito A. Chavez)
