Sun Life expands digital insurance platforms

Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. (SLOCPI) has collaborated with two e-wallet platforms to make digital insurance products more accessible to the public.

In a statement, Alex Narciso, SLOCPI president said on Friday, Sept. 24, that the company has partnered with GCash and ePera to meet the increasing demand for affordable personal digital life insurance.

Sun Life’s Digital, Easy, Affordable, Life (D.E.A.L.) insurance products will be available to registered users of GCash beginning October. Initial offerings include Personal Accident Armor, Life Armor, and Byahero Protect.

Likewise, Life Armor and the Personal Accident Armor will be available to registered users of ePera beginning next month.

For the past few years, Narciso noted that SLOCPI has been seeing the potential of digital platforms in enabling them to reach more Filipinos.

“This was especially evident during the pandemic, as ecommerce grew exponentially,” Narciso said.

“By making our products available in GCash and ePera, we can encourage more to explore the solutions we offer, all of which can bring them financial protection especially in these uncertain times,” he added.

Sun Life’s D.E.A.L. insurance products offer affordable digital life insurance packages for different needs. These are currently available to registered users of Lazada and Moneygment.
