Navotas City has lowest COVID-19 growth rate in Metro Manila

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco announced Friday that the city has the lowest coronavirus disease (COVID-19) growth rate, Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR), and reproduction rate.

In a Facebook post, Tiangco shared a photo from independent research group OCTA showing COVID-19 data of all the local government units (LGU) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Navotas currently has 43 COVID-19 cases with a growth rate of -66%, reproduction rate of 0.57, and an ADAR of 15.89 per 100,000 population.

Tiangco thanked his constituents for their support in the city’s efforts in fighting COVID-19 and reminded them to stay vigilant in this time of pandemic.

“Binabati natin ang lahat ng mga Navoteño at nagpapasalamat tayo sa inyong pakikiisa at pakikipagtulungan para mapababa ang mga kaso. Kahit papaano, makahihinga na tayo nang maluwag (We congratulate all Navoteños and we thank you for your solidarity and cooperation to help bring down the number of cases. Somehow, we can all breathe),” the mayor said.

“Patuloy po ang ating paalala na wag magpakampante at manatiling maingat. Wag po nating hayaang masayang ang ating mga sakripisyo” (We continue to remind the people not to be complacent and to be careful. Let us not let our sacrifices be wasted), he added.

As of Friday, the reproduction number of COVID-19 in Metro Manila decreased from 0.99 to 0.97, according to OCTA Research.
