Calls at One Hospital Command Center slightly decrease

The number of calls being received by the One Hospital Command Center (OHCC), the country's referral system for healthcare services, has slightly decreased, an official said on Friday, Sept. 24.

OHCC Medical Officer Dr. Marylaine Padlan said that they are currently receiving an average of 300 to 400 calls per day as compared to the 400 to 500 last week.

"But it doesn’t mean na it is something to be happy kasi marami pa rin po iyong calls na 300 to 400 (But it doesn’t mean that it is something to be happy about because 300 to 400 calls are still a lot)," she said during a public press briefing.

"Bumaba po iyong number ng calls pero hindi pa rin po siya parang significant iyong pagbaba po (The number of calls decreased but the drop was not that significant)," she added.

Most of the calls that the OHCC were receiving were from Metro Manila and Calabarzon, said Padlan.

The OHCC has also increased the number of its workforce to efficiently accommodate more calls, said Padlan.

"Nagpi-prepare naman po kami about sa anticipation kung tataas po iyong mga calls natin na mari-receive or kaakibat ng pagtaas ng mga cases. Nag-hire po kami ng additional workforce (We are preparing in the event that the number of calls start to increase anew. We hired an additional workforce)," she said.
