Baras, Rizal LGU implements 14-day lockdown in two areas starting Sept. 24

The municipal government of Baras, Rizal has placed two areas under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) respectively following the surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases among its residents.

Mayor Kathrine Robles issued Executive Order No. 29-Series of 2021 imposing ECQ or Critical Zone on two houses, and MECQ or Containment Zone on 40 houses in Katipunan Street, Barangay San Jose starting at 12:01 a.m. on September 24 until October 7.

Under ECQ, residents in the two houses will not be allowed to go out. The municipal government will provide them with food for 14 days or until their quarantine classification is lifted.

Residents of the two houses will be transferred to an isolation facility while other occupants will have to undergo swab testing.

Only Barangay Health Workers are authorized to buy essential goods for the occupants of the two houses. Tricycles and any form of transportation will not be allowed entry into the vicinity of the areas placed under ECQ.

Authorized Persons Outside of Residence who are residing in the 40 houses on Katipunan Street which are under MECQ or Containment Zone starting on September 24, are allowed to go out provided they show their respective quarantine passes or work identification cards for entry and exit in the lockdown area.

Swab testing of the residents will also be conducted as a standard operating procedure.
