Adiwang dominates Hexigetu in convincing UD win

Team Lakay's Lito Adiwang continued his winning ways after dominating Hexigetu with a striking masterclass en route to a convincing unanimous decision victory in their strawweight bout in ONE: Revolution at the Singapore Indoor Stadium Friday night, Sept. 24.

Adiwang, feeling all the hype and the energy from a cheerful crowd, displayed striking mastery and showcased his classic wushu style against a flat-footed Hexigetu.

Adiwang, living up to his nickname "The Thunder Kid," capitalized on his speed and range to catch Hexigetu off guard with his lightning-fast flying kicks and knees.

Hexigetu was hounded by back-to-back yellow cards from referee Justin Brown after three straight accidental groin strikes landed on Adiwang.

The Igorot warrior put up a performance to remember, creating a highlight reel of his own with a flashy flying high knee early in the first round followed up by accurate leg kicks from all directions.

Adiwang's explosiveness was shortly disrupted in a yellow card-plagued second round as Hexigetu caught himself in range disadvantage, trying to close in on his inside kicks but to no avail.

After Hexigetu's second yellow card in the third round, Adiwang's Igorot warrior spirit prevailed and returned the favor with a flying side kick that slightly disoriented the Chinese warrior.

After a quick exchange of strikes midway the third round, Adiwang landed an uppercut and a high kick before an accidental groin strike this time coming from the Team Lakay fighter himself.

With the clock ticking at the last minute, action came in center Circle with Adiwang still dominating the striking department and Hexigetu landing little to no damage.

The 28-year-old Team Lakay stalwart improved to a 13-3 record while Hexigetu saw his three-match win streak snap and fell to a 9-5 card.
