Kim Chiu on cheating: 'I was also a victim'

Published Sep 23, 2021 03:19 pm

"It’s Showtime” host Kim Chiu cleared the issue about her allegedly "justifying" cheaters.

She reiterated that it's far from the truth, relating that she was even a victim of a cheating partner.

“The other day, I was not given a chance to explain further what I said. I just want to tell everyone and clarify – I am not in favor of cheating. I will never really be in favor of that, because I was also a victim then. It was not easy, and it was very painful,” said Kim in mixed English and Filipino.

Kim used to date controversial actor Gerald Anderson.

"Again, I am not in favor of cheating and I will never be in favor of that," she added.

The actress, on the other hand, greeted her longtime boyfriend Xian Lim, when co-host Jugs Jugeta added in jest that she should look for "loyal" men.

“Love, love, love. Respect, respect, respect. Let’s spread love and happiness."

Recall that the issue started when Vice Ganda asked Kim's two cents about the saying "Once a cheater, always a cheater."

When another of their co-hosts Teddy Corpuz revealed that he once cheated on a former girlfriend, Kim interjected: "Baka mag che-cheat kung hindi siya naging masaya... Baka bubukas yung mundo ng cheating kung di siya masaya sa partner."

Vice disagreed, lecturing Kim: "Again Kim Chiu, there's no acceptable reason for cheating. Masaya ka or hindi ka masaya, walang pass yun to cheat. Hindi ka ma abswelto dun: 'Eh kasi hindi siya masaya...' Walang ganun, Kim."

Prior, Vice already disapproved of Kim's view seemingly justifying cheating men as simply weak.
