Romualdez welcomes Isko Moreno-Willie Ong May 2022 bid

House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez on Wednesday, Sept. 22 welcomed the reported bid of Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong for the May 2022 national elections.

Romualdez said he can vouch for Moreno's choice of Ong as his running mate in next year's polls.

"Mayor Isko Moreno made an excellent choice in Dr. Willie Ong as his

running mate in the 2020 presidential elections," Romualdez said in a statement.

"I have known Dr. Willie, a close friend, as a decent man whose heart is in the right place," he added.

Ong, an online personality and physician, "truly cares for his fellowmen," according to Romualdez.

"And he has never wavered in his

quest for a good government responsive to the needs of Filipinos," the solon added.

Both Moreno and Ong are expected to declare their candidacy today, Wednesday.
