Pasig City gets E-Consulta accreditation from PhilHealth

Pasig City became the first local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila to get an E-Consulta accreditation from the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Mayor Vico Sotto said Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, Sotto said that he and representatives from PhilHealth held a meeting earlier regarding the accreditation.

"Our City Health Office (CHO) is the first in NCR (National Capital Region) to be granted E-Consulta accreditation by PhilHealth. This is an important step towards the implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC)," Sotto said.

"This aims to provide better primary health care services (health centers/clinics), which will also help in decongesting our hospitals," he added.

Sotto also said that the meeting also tackled the PhilHealth claims of the city's hospitals and clinics.

The LGU has been steadfast in improving its health care programs and services to help patients as well as the healthcare workers in the city's hospitals and clinics, especially amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the threat of its more transmissible Delta variant.

On Oct. 8 of last year, Pasig City unveiled their new health monitoring system, the Pasig Health Monitor, that is expected to further improve its contact tracing efforts and streamline its health services.

The Pasig Health Monitor is a tool that will help the City Health Department improve its health services and speed up response time of its medical services.

The new monitoring system also establishes a “real-time communication” among local government offices in charge of tracing, testing, and treatment.

“Through this, the coordination of the various branches of our City Health Department related to COVID-19 medical response or even regular health concerns will be faster,” the LGU said.

The city’s health monitoring system serves as the central database of the citizen’s medical records, an integrated inventory of the city’s health resources, and the Pasig Pass—a QR code-based contact tracing solution.
