Paranaque City gov't launches 'cash for work' to help 1,000 displaced workers

The Paranaque City government launched on Wednesday a “cash for work” project that will help displaced workers in the city who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Mar Jimenez, Public Information Office chief, 1,000 individuals coming from Districts I and II were chosen for the “cash for work” project of the city government in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-NCR).

Jimenez said the chosen individuals will receive P400 a day to clean areas in their respective barangays.

The PIO chief said the orientation for the chosen displaced worker was conducted at Wawa Multipurpose Gym in Barangay Sto. Nino.

Jimenez said Mayor Edwin Olivarez thanked Congressman Eric Olivarez and the City Council under Vice-Mayor Rico Golez for their initiative in helping city residents who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
