Bree Jonson tests positive for cocaine use- PNP

Artist Breana “Bree” Jonson tested positive for drug use based on the result of the test conducted by forensics experts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) using the the urine sample taken from her bladders during the autopsy.

Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, director of the Police Regional Office 1, said that the Regional Crime Laboratory has also finished its autopsy on the remains of Jonson—the autopsy started almost 7 p.m. on Monday and was done by 10 a.m the following day.

“The initial findings based on the autopsy is that her cause of death is asphyxia. This also includes the urine test taken from the bladder wherein Breana tested positive for cocaine use,’ said Peralta n an interview over ANC Headstart.

On Tuesday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) also confirmed that Bree’s reported boyfriend, Julian Ongpin, tested positive for drug use during the test conducted over the weekend. He was charged with illegal drugs case after 12.6 grams of shabu were seized from him.

The cadaver of Bree was found  inside a room at the Floatsam Jetsom Resort in San Juan, La union on Saturday, September 18. The incident was first reported as suicide.

Peralta said that during the physical examination of Bree’s cadaver, police forensics expert did not see any markings or wounds that would indicate struggle, or in other words, there are no markings that would indicate she figured in a physical confrontation with Ongpin.

He said that while there were markings found on Ongpin’s body, the investigation revealed that they were caused by his attempt to forcibly enter the room when Bree was no longer responding to her call.

Peralta said that while Ongpin was released on Monday due to the order of the La Union Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, he appeared before the police investigators on Tuesday wherein additional questions and physical check on her body were made.

Peralta also assured of fair investigation on the case.
