14-wheeler truck runs over 18-year-old in Tondo

An 18-year-old man died after he was ran over by a truck in Tondo, Manila on Monday, Sept. 20.

A report from "24 Oras" identified the victim as Alberto Abel.

Abel was reportedly walking with his headphones on when he was suddenly ran over by a 14-wheeler truck on a street in Barangay 84 in Tondo.

According to barangay officials, Abel was also using his cellphone while walking and did not see that the truck was already behind him.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but later died, the report added.

The truck driver is under police custody and may face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
