US Open champ Biado, Philracom chair grace PSA Forum


The Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum will have for its special guest the newest toast of Philippine sports in Carlo Biado, fresh from his triumphant campaign in the US Open Pool Championship in Atlantic City.

The former caddie turned pool hero is going to talk and look back on his journey in becoming the first Filipino to win the US Open after the legendary Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes last won the crown in 1994. The 37-year-old Biado, a two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalists, rallied back to defeat Aloysius Yapp of Singapore in the final, 13-8, and win the $50,000 prize money.

Billiards Sports Confederation of the Philippines (BSCP) Secretary-General Robert Mananquil will join Biado in the weekly online Forum presented by San Miguel Corporation (SMC), MILO, Amelie Hotel Manila, Braska Restaurant, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Meanwhile, Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom) Chairman Reli De Leon leads the first part of the 10:00 a.m. session also powered by Smart and Upstream Media as the official webcast partner, as he delves on the latest in the horseracing industry, including the staging of the third and final leg of the Philippine Triple Crown series this coming October.
