
A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck parts of Antique province early Monday morning, Sept. 20, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the earthquake was traced at 15 kilometers (km) northwest of Valderrama, Antique at around 4:49 a.m.
The earthquake was "moderately strong" at Intensity IV in the municipality of Valderrama.
It was "weak" at Intensity III in Bugasong, Antique, while it was slightly felt at Intensity II in San Jose de Buenavista and Belison, Antique.
At around 4:55 a.m., Phivolcs also recorded a 3.9-magnitude earthquake that originated 6 km northwest of Valderrama, Antique.
It said it was felt at Intensity III in Valderrama, Antique, and Intensity II in Bugasong, Antique.
Phivolcs added that it does not expect damage to property or aftershocks due to these earthquakes.
