Los Baños mayor contracts COVID-19, staff placed under quarantine

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna - Mayor Antonio L. Kalaw announced on Monday (September 20) that he tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement posted on the municipal government's official Facebook page, Kalaw said that his office is temporarily closed as his staff and close contacts were also placed under quarantine.

Despite not experiencing any symptoms at the moment, Kalaw assigned Vice Mayor Josephine Sumangil to be the municipality's officer-in-charge as he undergoes quarantine from September 19 to October 2.

The mayor also reminded his constituents to stay vigilant and to follow minimum health protocols to avoid infection.
