Controversial couple Jayzam Manabat and Camille Trinidad have finally broken their silence over the issue they got involved in recently.

According to the couple, collectively known as JaMill, a representative from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) visited them and "educated" them on their responsibilities as online content creators.

"Inaasikaso na namin mga tamang paraan," said Jayzam, during an interview for an episode of the magazine show "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" on GMA-7 last Sunday night, Sept. 19.

He continued: "Sa mga nanunuod, wag niyong isipin negatibo kapag yung mga tao ay hinahabol ng BIR. Ibigsabihin, may potensiyal kaming mga vlogger umambag dito sa Pilipinas."

As for their decision to put their house and car on the market, JaMill deemed it as another impulsive decision they made, just like the deletion of their YouTube channel, which was more than 12 million subscribers.

Recently, the BIR issued a memorandum with the subject: “Taxation of Any Income Received by Social Media Influencers.”

The BIR said it has been receiving reports that some social media influencers have not been paying their income taxes despite earning “huge” income from the different social media platforms.

There are also reports that some social media influencers are not registered with the BIR or are registered under different tax types or lines of business, but are also not declaring their earnings from social media platforms for tax purposes.

Coincidentally, at that time, JaMill deleted their YouTube channel.

Then, their properties were up for sale, making them more "suspicious."

But in an exclusive interview with Soho, the couple said that they are now straightening things.
