Comelec spox: COCs of all PDP-Laban bets to be accepted but...
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it will accept the Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) of the respective candidates of the two factions of the PDP-Laban.

Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said the poll body will accept their COCs because that mandate is "ministerial on the part of the Comelec."
"This means that the Comelec has no choice but to accept what they will be filing," he said in a television interview on Monday, Sept. 18.
But Jimenez said the Comelec will still have to decide which of them will be given due course.
"It is a different matter when it comes to giving due course among the COCs filed," he said.
"We will still have to see what happens afterwards once their intra-party dispute is resolved," Jimenez added.
Both the faction of Senator Manny Pacquiao and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi submitted their Sworn Information Update Statement (SIUS) with the Comelec for the May 2022 polls.
The Comelec has set the COC filimg for the May 2022 polls from Oct. 1 to 8.
