Build, Build, Build so far generates over 700K jobs in 2021 alone--DPWH

More than 700,000 jobs were generated under the Build, Build, Build program since the beginning of this year, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) disclosed Monday, Sept. 20.

From January to Aug. 31, 2021, a total of 768,062 jobs were generated under the government's infrastructure program.

Since 2016, the program has been able to provide 6.5 million jobs. Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said they aim to employ 1.6 million more workers during the last year of the current administration.

On Aug. 9, the department launched "Bigay Trabaho," an online job fair that offers job opportunities from various contractors in the country.

Job openings from various construction companies posted under the program include welders, laborers, civil engineers, materials engineers and technicians, equipment operators, foremen, and carpenters among others.

The online job fair has so far employed 1,090 workers around the country.

“Our Build, Build, Build Program will still require millions of local manpower nationwide despite the pandemic. Jobs will allow communities to recover from the economic impact of COVID-19," Villar said.

“Jobseekers may still contact our different channels for available job positions that are vital to the success of our BBB Program. This is also our way of helping contractors so that they have enough manpower to implement and complete massive projects on time,” the secretary added.

The online job fair was launched on Aug. 9, 2021 and still runs up to this date through different platforms via Landline no. (02) 16502, Viber no. 0961-684-7084, or email at markvillar_bigaytrabaho.dpwh.gov.ph.
