Quezon City's target vaccinees of 1.7M receive at least one dose

The Quezon City government on Wednesday said it has inoculated 100 percent or 1.7 million of its citizens and workers with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Tuesday, August 31, the city government has surpassed its 1.7 million target or 80 percent of the city's adult population.

A total of 1,701,211 individuals are already vaccinated with their first dose, while 844,149 individuals are fully vaccinated including those who were given the single-dose Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccines.

In total, the city government has administered 2,451,630 vaccine doses from March to August 2021.

“I am proud that our QC residents and workers are one with us to achieve population protection. We thank them for their patience and cooperation throughout the entire vaccination process,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

“Without the dedication of our whole vaccination team and our partners, we would not have achieved this number in so little time considering the number of individuals that we are targeting. For their invaluable support, we are truly grateful on behalf of our QCitizens,” she added.

QC Task Force Vax to Normal Co-chair Joseph Juico assured the residents that they will continue the vaccination program despite reaching the target population.

“Aside from ensuring the remaining second dose inoculations, our vaccination sites will remain operational to vaccinate all eligible residents as long as we receive vaccine supplies from our procurement and the national government,” Juico said.

Residents may register through their barangay offices, QCVaxEasy (qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph/qcvaxeasy), and through company-assisted registrations.
