The Pasay City government finished on Thursday (Sept. 2) the distribution of financial aid or “ayuda” to families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Angie Roa-Yu, head of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), said they have already served the qualified beneficiaries in 201 barangays in the city.
Yu said a total of P348,992-million financial aid from the national government had been distributed to 116,875 households or equivalent to 348,992 individuals who received P1,000 up to P4,000 cash.
The city government also served around 5,713 families or about 22,556 individuals who are covered by the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) on September 2.
The CSWD head said they would have finished the cash distribution earlier but it was put on hold in Barangays 42 and 66 after three of their unit officers as well as the chairmen and some of the village watchmen tested positive for COVID-19.
The CSWD chief added that they are now working for the distribution of the unclaimed “ayuda”. She appealed for patience from the beneficiaries because they lack workforce after nine of her staff members were infected with COVID.
