As a response to the willingness of over 90 percent of its employees to get vaccinated versus COVID-19, LBC goes into overdrive with its Bakuna sa Lahat Program. Eyeing no less than 100 percent inoculation of its workforce here and around the world, LBC has committed to shoulder free vaccines for all their employees and their household dependents.

LBC’s total commitment to see its vaccine program succeed followed a well-thought-out process that employed three steps: education, encouragement and engagement.

LBC’s first order of business was to visit the earliest vaccination sites in Metro Manila and observe and even experience each step of the vaccine process. Through this, they were able to fine-tune their internal vaccine program to make it less tedious and confusing.

Equipped with the proper knowledge, LBC started tapping officers to disseminate relevant information to all their teams in huddles and meetings.

According to Jhayner Bufi, LBC’s chief people officer, they engaged the company’s managers to be the spokespersons given their sphere of influence to their employees. “What we did was we gave managers education about available vaccines, tried to dispel all misunderstandings and fears about getting jabbed," Bufi said. "It was also intended to convince managers to get vaccinated as well to become role models. We conducted nationwide townhalls explaining how vaccines were made and the cost they have to bear when they get hospitalized. A lot of focus was given on factual data on the efficacy of vaccines, highlighting that all vaccine brands will prevent them from getting severe symptoms.”

What followed were poster statements—with LBC President Miguel Camahort and other officers as main influencers. Organic HR and admin employees were also tasked to organize, campaign, communicate, mobilize and roll-out the vaccine campaign seamlessly. To make the sign-ups easy, an in-house registration e-link was also established. NCR-based registrants were directed to proceed to LBC’s Mega Vaccine Center in their cargo exchange while jabs of provincial-based workers were done via hospital service providers. Throughout these vaccination activities, rapid antibody and antigen testing among LBC employees continued without fail.

Bufi explained that LBC’s vaccine program is not just for their employees and their families but is their way to help the country get back on its feet. “The way LBC has been servicing and moving commerce around, we'd like it to be handled by safe, healthy people. And the more we move towards achieving micro-herd immunity within our organization, we know we’re one step closer to accomplishing our goals,” Bufi concluded.
