Illegal carpool drivers arrested after crossing in Zambales checkpoints
Authorities have arrested illegal carpool drivers for violating health protocols by pretending to be included in the authorized persons outside residence (APOR) list when they passed a checkpoint in Zambales.

“Nagpapanggap sila na sila ay APOR ang iba naman ay residente talaga dito sa Zambales kaya pagdating po sa borders ay pwede silang makalusot (They pretend to be an APOR while some were residents of Zambales, so that when they pass the borders they can enter),” said Police Colonel Roman Cardiño in a report from GMA.
Cardiño said authorities were alarmed that the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) might spread since the passengers did not observe social distancing.
Meanwhile, the carpool drivers with their passengers also pretend to be relatives to pass-through checkpoints.
“Marami po tayong natanggap na reklamo na sila ay nangeenganyo ng mga civilian para sumakay sa kanila. Iniingatan po kasi natin na sila ay makapagdala ng virus sa Zambales o sa Manila kung saan man sila papunta (We have received many complaints that they encouraged passengers to ride with them. We just want to make sure that COVID-19 virus might not spread here in Zambales or in other places they will go including Manila),” he added.
The drivers were detained in the Subic, Zambales police station, the report added.
