Muntinlupa LGU congratulates Biado for bagging US Open Pool Championship title
The Muntinlupa City government Carlo Biado for winning the 2021 US Open Pool Championship title.
“The local government of Muntinlupa, through Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, congratulates Mr. Carlo Biado, a resident of Southern Hills in Soldiers Village, Muntinlupa City, for winning the 2021 US Open Pool as grand champion! Padayon, Muntinlupeño!” the city government posted on its Facebook page, describing Biado as a “Muntinlupa Pride.”

Biado beat Singapore’s Aloysius Yapp at the championship held at Harrah’s Resort, Atlantic City on Sept. 18. He won $50,000 and a trophy.
“I am very happy because this event is one of my dreams. I dedicate this to my family and to my baby. Thank you to all of you even during the pandemic you’re still here watching around the world. Thank you to Matchroom, my sponsors, and all of the Filipinos who support me always everywhere,” said Biado after the match, according to Matchroom Pool.
On Instagram, Biado posted, “Im still speechless. I got it!!!! The US OPEN 9 Ball Championship 2021.”
“I'd like to thank Matchroom Pool for such a wonderful event. This is one of my biggest dream and I made it. Thanks to God for such a wonderful blessing for me and for my family. To my wife who guide me and stay beside me no matter what. Its a great match between Yapp you will be a champ soon! Keep it up! To all Filipino who support me maraming salamat. And to the crowd I hope you enjoy the Final match. Thank you USA,” he added.
Biado is the second Filipino to win the US Open Pool Championship title in 27 years after Efren “Bata” Reyes won it in 1994.
Before the finals, Biado beat Japan’s Naoyuki Oi, while Yapp edged out the Philippines’ Dennis Orcollo.
