Pasay City gives 20 bicycles to members of cooperatives

The Pasay City government awarded on Saturday 20 bicycles to members of cooperatives who have been badly affected by the pandemic.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the City Cooperative Office launched the “Bizekletang Pangkabuhayan 1 and II and the Gupit on Wheels” project in cooperation with the JCI Manila and JCI Senate.

Rubiano said the project aims to help the transport group, school-based and community-based cooperatives that are greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rowena Buenaventura, head of the City Cooperative Office, said under the Bizekletang Pangkabuhayan I, five bicycles -- which can be used for delivery services -- were awarded to those who are engaged in online business.

Buenaventura said under the Bizekletang Pangkabuhayan II, 10 bicycles were given to those who wanted to be a “Grab Bike Rider” and five bicycles for the “Gupit on Wheels”.

She said the activity was held at the covered court of Jose Rizal Elementary School on Park Avenue in Pasay City.
