ITCZ to bring scattered rain showers over western parts of S. Luzon, VisMin

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), a region where winds coming from the northern and southern hemispheres converge, will still be the dominant weather system in the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, Sept. 18.
In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said the ITCZ may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have generally fair weather conditions but with possible isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
PAGASA advised the public to remain vigilant as severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with short-lived heavy rains, may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said PAGASA has not monitored a weather disturbance or low pressure area that may form or affect the country in the next three to five days.
PAGASA has not issued a gale warning on Saturday as coastal water conditions remain slight to moderate.
Fisherfolk and those using small sea boats are safe to sail, it added.
